CEPA Gallery

CEPA Gallery is an award-winning photography and media arts center in Buffalo, NY. I was brought on as Director of Special Projects under a New York State Council on the Arts grant to research, develop, and launch a new fundraising model for the organization.

The result was Community Supported Art — a subscription-based program modeled on the CSA farm share concept. I commissioned eight local artists to produce fifty "CSA shares" of eight artworks each, available for purchase by the first fifty patrons to sign up as season shareholders. Shareholders picked up their shares at a launch event at CEPA's Big Orbit Gallery.

I handled the full arc of the project: research and program design, artist commissioning, branding, marketing, patron outreach, event production, and press. The program landed coverage in The New York Times, Buffalo News, and Buffalo Rising.
